Replanning...

... due to the neverending story (discussions) in the modular group that in some cases follows FREMO americaN... :( My decision is to go on my own with prototype operations on a small secondary line instead the dream of gigantic modular set up that never realizes. The result is that Crawford Valley will take a central place on my shelf layout in the future.

To be continued... :)

A parcel from the US

I´ve just opened a nice parcel from the states...
A Triple E8/9

A pair of Kato CB&Q E8/9 for my Zephyr. Still it´s a static model awaiting decoders in the new ones. And it demand some faster work on the mainline (train room) to allow som longer runs.

Trackwork

Some small works, one is to place ties in trackjoints as preparation for painting.

A little bigger work is to make a fake turnout to an abandoned industrial track. With some paint, gravel and grass it will be almost invisible :) (the white strip is styrene used to make the correct height)

Easter...

... means a week without work together with the kids. And of course some time building on the modules.

The two new turnouts laid together with some track. The two tracks at the right still waiting to be fitted and glued.

Expanding the module

First step is to expand the framework of 10mm plywood to the full lenght.

Then it´s time for the bottom of 4mm plywood

Third step is the upper frame with soundproofing styrofoam (2*10mm) inside

And todays last step is the top layer. some pieces of track show the plan, to the left a warehouse and to the right a coal dealer. The road to the left will be altered at the gate of the textile mill...

Building buildings :)

A two week period of work created a lot of inspiration... At first a wiew along the tracks...

Mars Textile, named after my late grandfather, having an extended loading platform which will allow two boxcars to be loaded or unloaded at the same moment.

B. Fast(h) is an industrial building overlooking the yard from a small hill. Connected to this there will be an old boxcar converted to a shed down by the siding on this side.

The plan is to make a full interior that will be shown from "outside"
